We must realize that God's will shines through everything if we are following Him. In John 16, Jesus is trying to explain to His disciples what is about to happen to Him. They ask a lot of questions, and Jesus tells them that they will be faced with trials and sorrows, and even people who will hurt them in God's name. But. There's a But!!! (Don't you love it when there is a but?!) "But, take heart, because I have overcome the world."
God is good, always. This goodness extends far beyond our satisfaction with the way life is going. While we must always strive to be joyful in the life God has given us, there are times when things don't go our way. Praising Him, in spite of our circumstances, is a privilege. Our relationship with God is more precious when we choose to worship Him when things aren't going right.
I never anticipated my running journey would have been as "successful" as it has been so far. Running a mile? Impossible at first. Running a 5k at one point seemed like the biggest mountain ever, a 10k the same, and then the idea of a Half Marathon was unachievable. Until I put the work in.
