Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,
the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy
health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
Now to His temple draw near;
Sing now in glad adoration!
This is a hymn that simply says it: let’s all praise the Lord, our Almighty King and God!
This declarative hymn has been around since the 1600s, and it is no less biblical and true now than it was then.
Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that
is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come
now with praises before Him!
Let the Amen
Sound from His people again;
Gladly for aye we adore Him.
Can’t you just feel heaven in these lyrics? I love when we are brought to the vision of heaven and all of creation praising Him. It helps me enter a deeper praise; a praise we will share for eternity!
The Psalms are great when talking about Praising God: Psalm 150 says “Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heaven! Praise Him for His mighty works; praise His unequaled greatness!… Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!”
This hymn does that for us as well – it is a call for praise from every creature!
